Entitled, Switch, the new film will feature Mos Def as a younger version of Ordell Robbie, the Samuel L. Jackson character in Jackie Brown. Hawkes will play Louis Gara, Robert De Niro’s part in the original film.

Switch is written and directed by Dan Schecter, who explained the plot of the sequel.

“Ordell and Louis as they team up to kidnap Mickey Dawson, the wife of a corrupt Detroit real estate developer,” he said, “When the husband refuses to pay the ransom for his wife’s return, the ex-cons are forced to reconceive their plan, and the angry housewife uses the duo to get her revenge.”

Production for Switch begins in May.

The huge hit has already received support from countless media tastemakers, with the likes of MTV Base, Kiss, Flava, AKA and Massive RNB all adding the video to their TV playlists. The track was also Sarah – Jayne’s weekend anthem on BBC 1xtra, with the accompanying video debuting exclusively on SoulCulture earlier this week. The mellow track, which features a soulful melody from Mensah (lead singer from rock / indie band The Thirst), highlights the diverse talents of the Bakery Boys collective.

2011 was a wholesome year for Exo; he opened the year with a bang releasing a mix tape entitled The Power Of The Pound which was sold for just £1 to enlighten his audience about money, wealth and the value of a pound.  The CD was well received by fans, bloggers, and of course fellow artists sparking reviews from The Grime Report, BBC 1Xtra’s Charlie Sloth, MTV Wrap UP plus more.

His following began to grow; his video Show & Prove admirably received maximum rotation from Channel AKA and also made it to the Flava TV playlist. Before even half the year passed, he circulated another fire mixtape entitled, The Appointment.
