In a bold move, high street retailer Primark have announced they will begin to trial stocking CDs in their stores…
Following a deal with Universal (whose roster boasts the likes of Jay-Z, Rihanna and Justin Bieber), the retailing giant is said to be confident going in to this new and uncharted territory, as they feel ”fashion and music have always been synonymous.”
The extent of which they’ll incorporate the CDs in to their store layout is yet to be revealed, however, some critics are questioning whether or not the idea can be fully executed in today’s uncertain market for selling music on the high street.
A spokesperson for the retailer said: “Primark has a strong relationship with licensed product and the CDs are a natural complement to Primark’s merchandise.”
