A week never goes by without an array of free new downloads going up for grabs, and here at SB.TV we like to make your job easier by collecting them here every Monday to sure you don’t miss out! Last week was no different, with new projects dropping from the likes of Rick Ross, Iggy Azalea, Lil B, Chuuwee and more…
Rick Ross – The Black Bar Mitzvah
For his third solo project of the year, the Bawse takes the more traditional mixtape route, contributing his own verses to some of the biggest tracks out right now (many coming from the G.O.O.D Music camp) and whilst these are mostly obvious choices and many are in common with Lil Wayne’s disappointing Dedication 4, Ross manages to effortlessly and naturally fit into the original tracks, making extended versions as opposed to just taking over the instrumentals. He also starts to introduce latest MMG signee and former SB.TV ‘Ones To Watch’ Rockie Fresh to his own fanbase, with the newcomer contributing memorable verses to ‘Mercy,’ ‘Clique,’ and ‘Presidential.’ This is certainly no Rich Forever but is a great way to set up a fourth quarter MMG slam dunk with Meek Mill’s debut Dreams and Nightmares dropping 30th October, and rounds off an outstanding year for the label.
Chuuwee – WildStyle
Five years in the making comes Sacremento rapper Chuuwee’s official debut album, inspired by the 90′s hip-hop sound, with all original production from the likes of Large Professor, Jonathan Lowell, Cookin’ Soul, Audible Doctor DaG, Tellapath and more. And although most of the lyrical output here is handled by Chuuwee himself, Willie The Kid, Dutch Rebelle, Dceased and Phoenix Pagliacci make appearances over the project’s 20 tracks. If you’re a fan of that throwback sound, and are looking for something fresh and new to listen to, then this is your tape!
Capital STEEZ – Amerikkkan Korruption Reloaded
Another one for fans of that traditional boom bap sound, yet with a refreshing new school twist, comes courtesy of Pro Era representative, Capital STEEZ, who re-released his Amerikkkan Korruption last week with the addition of some extra bonus tracks. For those who aren’t yet familiar, this is a great introduction to STEEZ’s solo work after having become well known for appearing alongside crew-mate Joey Bada$$ on breakthrough single ‘Survival Tactics.’
Iggy Azalea – Trap Gold
Hot off her appearance on BET’s ‘Grand Hustle’ Cypher alongside label boss T.I. and co, the Australian rapstress drops her highly anticipated Trap Gold mixtape, executively produced by Diplo and Fki’s 1st Down and featuring contributions from the likes of Juicy J, Sleigh Bells, Flosstradamus, DJ Spinz and more. The trap inspired project bridges the gap for fans awaiting her debut album The New Classic which is set for release early next year.
Lil B – Illusions Of Grandeur 2
Finally, couldn’t resist the chance to post this image of The Based God donning the clothing of Queen Elizabeth I, which he has recycled for the sequel to his Illusions Of Grandeur mixtape!
Also out last week was New Orleans rapper Dee-1′s Mannie Fresh hosted mixtape The Focus Tape; Dom Kennedy and OPM dropped their group effort Young Nation; and The Art Of Danny Brown Blends which sees the eccentric Detroit MC expertly juxtaposed against alternative instrumentals by DJ Critical Hype.
