Sincere drops his brand new single Déjà Vu this week and SB.TV caught up with the London rapper to find out what he’s got in store for us…
You wrote and produced Déjà Vu in-house with Kidbass, for those who don’t know, what can you tell us about it?
It’s one of those songs that comes on and you cant help but dance or bounce to it, I wanted to make a song that had the feel good factor and make you rush to the dance floor. We spent three months writing producing and mixing Déjà Vu. It sounds long but when you’re in the studio the time flies.
What can we expect from your debut album?
My debut album, Yours Sincerely will be out early 2013, you can expect something fresh, exciting and new sounding, the album will sound like it was made in London but will still have an appeal to music lovers across the world.
Will we see a Sincere tour?
Yes 100%. Early 2013 expect to see me head lining my own tour, which I’m very excited about.
Who would you like to collaborate with most?
I would like to make a song produced by Hudson Mohawke feat Kanye West and Adele that would be my dream collaboration, going to keep my fingers crossed lol.
What are your three most prized possessions?
That’s a good question… The first would have to be my young entrepreneurs chain as it the logo for my record label, I came up with the name when I was 14 so to actually have done enough work to make it into a chain was a great feeling for me, second would be my Mic Nuemann U47 because I record all my vocals on it, and the third would be my super king size bed from Ikea because I never get to sleep much, but when I do, my bed is great.
Tell us about XYE clothing? What kind of audience did you have in mind when you made it?
When making XYE I wanted people who liked my music to have something other than my music we could share, I wanted to create a lifestyle and a movement. Anyone who likes my music will know I love fashion, the clothing labels I looked at when creating XYE were APC, Burberry and Supreme.
Musically what have been your greatest moments so far?
My greatest moments have been touring with Wretch 32 and performing at Glastonbury. Also hearing my singles being supported on radio and TV and seeing the response from the public have been great.
What’s next for you?
More great music and more XYE clothing, we have the snapbacks coming soon and there’s a new range of t-shirts too. I’ve just made a special piece for Professor Green that he really likes and Rita Ora and Mr Hudson have been wearing the Lizzy clothing, so much more of that.
Déjà vu is out on September 9th 2012
