Lauryn Hill has announced plans to release a new single in Autumn which will be called Black Rage…
For those wondering about the name of the single, Hill has explained that the song is really quite political and is about ”the derivative effects of racial inequity and abuse.” In a statement Lauryn Hill talked about the aim of her music:
“I’ve been a long-standing rebel against the stale, over commoditization, as artists we have opportunity to help the public evolve, raise consciousness and awareness, teach, heal, enlighten and inspire in ways the democratic process may not be able to touch. So we keep it moving.”
Hill’s last album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill was released in 1998 and is yet to be followed up with another album, but she released a new song on 2010 entitled Repercussions.
Lauryn’s will also join Nas on 10 out of 18 of his Life is Good tour dates from next month, the tour starts at Columbia’s Merriweather Post Pavilion on October 6, and concludes at New York’s Radio City Music Hall on December 31 with a New Year’s show.
