Hollywood actor Michael Clarke Duncan dies, aged 54
Hollywood actor Michael Clarke Duncan, best known for his role in The Green Mile, has died in a Los Angeles hospital…
The cause of his death is not yet totally clear, however, it’s believed that Duncan never fully recovered from a heart attack he suffered back in June of this year. Duncan’s publicist, Joy Fehily, released a statement from Clarke’s fiancée, Omarosa Manigault, confirming that the 54-year-old actor had indeed died in a Los Angeles hospital.
Rising to fame for his role as convicted murderer, John Coffey, in the 1999 hit film, The Green Mile, Michael’s ability to act was clearly evident from the off — winning over the hearts of all those who watched the film. His performance saw him go on to be nominated for ‘Best Supporting Actor’ at the Academy Awards, only closely missing out on the award to Michael Caine on the night. Despite missing out on the award, Duncan continued his rise to stardom, appearing in Armageddon, Daredevil, Sin City, Planet of the Apes and many more Box Office hits throughout his career.
His infectious smile and huge presence is sure to be desperately missed.
