Dr. Dre tops Forbes list of 2012′s highest earning hip hop artists

Forbes have named producer, artist and all-round entrepreneur Dr. Dre as the biggest earner in hip hop over the past 12 months…

The artist, producer and founder of the highly successful Beats by Dre headphone range has topped Forbes’ Cash Kings 2012: Hip Hop list, with pre-tax earnings of a whopping $110 million.

Diddy came in at second place with $45 million, meaning that Dre earnt more than double his cumulative earnings this year. Jay-Z weighed in at third place, earning a cool $38 million, with his close friend and Watch The Throne partner Kanye West creeping up from behind with $35 million to take fourth position.

Representing for the females, Nicki Minaj came in at eighth place, ahead of Eminem, with earnings of $15.5 million, respectively.
