This weeks sees two of our favourite alternative acts releasing new music – BIGkids have announced their album details and Theme Park‘s latest single is ready for purchase…
Alternative Corner favourites BIGkids have announced their debut album Never Grow Up will be released on 8th October with an accompanying UK tour commencing on 11th October at The Rainbow in Birmingham. The tour finishes at one of London’s best venues for finding new music Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen on 17th October.
Lead single Heart Sing personifies the Camden duo’s loveable and youthful style which has seen BIGkids become a festival hit this Summer; and there is still time to see them at Bestival in September. One half of the duo Ben Hudson (you may know him as rap’s best friend Mr Hudson) said “I don’t know what we’re going to do, but we’re going to do it.” This sentence probably sums up BIGkids, so if you do buy the album or go along to the tour expect the unexpected.
Theme Park might be one of the most feel good bands out there at the minute and their new single Jamaica might just be the most feel good single you’ve heard this summer. Whilst it has been played on the radio, YouTube and live for the past few months Jamaica was only released on Monday (20/08/12) so you can now all add it to your end of summer playlists.
Theme Park are supporting Bloc Party on their almost sold out October UK tour and like BIGkids they also headline at Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen – on October 10th.
