We all watched in wonder as stars such as Emeli Sande, Dizzee Rascal and Paul McCartney performed at the Olympic opening ceremony last Friday. And now Ed Sheeran has spoken out regarding the rumours about him performing at the closing ceremony…
Ed revealed to MTV News that despite not being able to talk about the event, rumours spread very quickly:
I was told not to say anything about [performing] and then as soon as I was told not to say anything about that it was in the Daily Mail the next day. It was a bit odd. The closing ceremony, there were rumours I am playing the closing ceremony. Those rumours may or may not be true.
True or not, Ed then went on to say that if he were to perform it would be alongside a big rock band, saying:
If I was to play the closing ceremony, I might be playing with quite a big rock band and I might be playing one of their most famous hits. Might be. And if I was doing that, it would feel quite fun, I think. And it would be quite a moment for me. But that’s if I was doing it.
Ok Ed, don’t give too much away; we wouldn’t want you to get into trouble!
