Female UK rapper Amplify Dot has signed a major record deal with EMI/ Virgin Records…
The signing makes Amplify Dot the first female rapper to secure a major label album deal in the UK since the release of Ms Dynamite‘s A Little Deeper 10 years ago (June 2002).
The album and multi-single deal sees A.Dot join an esteemed roster at Virgin Records including Katy Perry, Emeli Sande, Professor Green, Swedish House Mafia and David Guetta with the likes of Tinie Tempah, Lily Allen and Coldplay also under the parent label of EMI. She will release her debut album under the watchful eye of label president Miles Leonard alongside renowned A&Rs Matthew Leonard and Nick Burgess.
Amplify Dot has quickly risen through the underground ranks since first appearing on Tinchy Stryder‘s official Game Over Female Takeover remix 18 months ago with a string of online freestyles, buzz building mixtapes, street hits and collaborations with the likes of Kano, Ms Dynamite and Gyptian, going on to secure her growing reputation as one of the UK’s brightest new stars.
Her most recent body of work The Short Back And Sides EP caught the ears of execs at several major labels with EMI emerging as the successful bidder.
