MTV UK & Ireland have announced the final nine shortlisted artists in their annual search for the very best in new music - MTV BRAND NEW FOR 2012…

One unsigned artist will be added to the list on January 9th with public voting opening on the same day at http://www.mtv.co.uk/brandnew An overall winner of the 2012 title will be announced on February 1st. This year, for the first time ever, the list of top ten nominees will also include one unsigned act. So far over 2000 unsigned artists have entered the competition. A shortlist of 20 unsigned acts will be announced on January 8th with an overall winner being added to the Brand New for 2012 shortlist on January 9th.
