A new soulful phenomenon steps into the limelight as the UK proudly presents home-grown, multi-talent,Matti Roots, with his debut album, ʻBeatRoot’, set for release on 4 April.

Already a critically acclaimed musician, Mattiʼs spectrum of skills are sure to justifiably earn him comparisons to the soul legends of yesteryear, with MTVʼs, The Wrap Up, commenting, “There is next to nothing this guy doesn’t do musically: singing, production, lyrics, arrangement, he’s got it all!”

‘BeatRoot’ is the ultimate harmonious love handbook, a diary of the path of love and all its fascinating dimensions. From the first spark in, ʻLustʼ, the seductive fantasy of, ʻWhat Iʼm Gonna Doʼ, and the early stage infatuation in, ʻOCDʼ, right through to the bitterness of heartbreak in tracks such as, ʻI Miss Youʼ, ʻClosureʼ and ʻRawʼ – each track is a heart-rendering snap-shot of love, which jigsaw perfectly to form the fully rounded journey of relationships. Featuring some stellar talent (Susaye Green of the Supremes, Vula of the Basement Jaxx and Brit rapper Master Shortie) and recruiting some of the finest musicians in the UK, the end result is a tight, eclectic mix of influences.

Boasting 15 years studio experience including recording, programming, editing, performing, engineering, remixing and arranging, Matti Roots is no stranger to the technical side of music making. This, alongside Matti’s original compositions, production and remixes for the likes of Justin Timberlake, Natasha Bedingfield, Wiley, Ms. Dynamite, So Solid, Mis-teeq and Terri Walker, while composing sounds for several high profile radio and TV programmes and commercials, make Matti quite a musical force to be reckoned with.

With radio play from the likes of BBC 1Xtra, Choice, XFM, Galaxy, BBC London, Matti’s 2010 released single ‘OCD’ was also playlisted on a number of stations including Jazz FM, Colorful and DRS 3 (Swiss national radio).

For Spring 2011, Matti Roots finally unleashes his debut album ‘BeatRoot’, which given the overwhelmingly positive response from fans and industry insiders including Labrinth, it’s set to become an instant classic.

‘BeatRoot’ is released on Otherway Records on 4 April and singles ‘Lust’ and ‘Don’t Worry’ featuring Susaye Green of the Supremes..
