Stylah’s original Killa tune grabbed attention with its stereotypical “guns, girls and bling” video used to portray a message of anti-gun crime. Ironically the video itself was banned from television due to its graphic nature, despite the fact it attempted to portray a positive message.
Now Stylah’s back with a Team UK remix, cleverly calling on nationwide talent in an attempt to ensure the scene is united. The message: we shouldn’t have allegiance to our postcode. We should simply have allegiance to positive movements like this one.

This remix is similarly attempting to break down those stereotypes, telling people not to conform to the represented lifestyle despite being born into a ‘ghetto’. It also raises questions as to how such representations may cause fear within unfamiliar territories. Obviously, at SB.TV we know this to be true but unfortunately there are many out there who are unaware and may dismiss this message purely because it’s being portrayed in a rap song. It’s up to us all to help the spread these messages to create an even playing field for all forms of music.
Stylah, Malik, Kof, Wariko, R.I.O and K.Ners team up to make a decent remix of what was a particularly good original track. Yet with so much more to be said around this subject, we’re hoping for a London All Stars remix featuring Ghetts, Goods, Skibadee and more.
