2011 has claimed it’s first casualty with the news that Heartless Crew are finished.
After nearly 20 years together, Bushkin, Mighty Moe and Fonti have split. News spread fast on Twitter, with many fans in shock. Skepta tweeted, “I just heard The Heartless Crew have split up. I’ve been a fan since I can remember. Good luck to the legendary 3 on their future journeys.” England footballer Rio Ferdinand replied, “is this a joke?? Heartless dj’d at my wedding 4days non stop ‘true DJ crew’. Don’t tell me they splitting up…” The confirmation came when Bushkin released a video announcing the break up.
The crew has been together since they met at Holloway Boys School in 1992. They went on to run the garage scene with tracks Heartless Theme aka ‘The Superglue Riddim‘ and Female Skanker. Even though they’ve broken-up, Heartless remain a pioneering garage crew. They made their mark with raves at Chimes and sets on Mission, before moving onto 1Xtra and Rinse.
It’s all love still between the trio, as Bushkin bigged up Mighty Moe and Fonti’s future projects. Each member will continue to make music, but don’t expect to see them shockin out together again. Check out Bushkin’s video.
