Liam Gallagher has told London rapper Professor Green that he should stick to singing instead of rapping. The pair met at a party recently at which the rock star told the rapper that he has a good voice and that he should use it more.

The Oasis front man approached Green with a handshake, which he quickly exchanged for a fist. “He shouted ‘Green’ then put his hand out to shake mine. I went to shake it and he started air boxing. I was like, ‘Do you want to shake my hand or punch me?’ But the banter was wicked, he’s a real top bloke” said the Prof.

After a childhood spent listening to Oasis, the Just Be Good To Green star was obviously shocked. He told a tabloid newspaper, ”Liam spun me round and said, ‘I like your tones, I don’t give a f**k about your rapping but I like your tones. You’ve got a good voice.’” The UK MC added, “I was listening to his music as a child so for him to be the one coming up to me was incredible.”

The Gallagher brothers have make their dislike of hip hop quite clear in the past. Back in 2008, Noel Gallagher declared the music genre ‘wrong’ for Glastonbury festival after it was announced that Jay-Z would feature in the line-up. By the sounds of it, Professor Green was lucky to escape with a backhanded compliment. With a career built on rapping, let’s hope he doesn’t take Liam’s advice too seriously.
